Northside gallery honors Raymond Thunder-Sky and unconventional artists in his wake

Thunder-Sky was eccentric and iconic

CINCINNATI - Raymond Thunder-Sky was a Cincinnati artist, a Native American and a true original. He would wear a clown collar and construction hat and carry a toolbox along his Cincinnati strolls, and his art would often focus on demolition and construction throughout the city.

Thunder-Sky died in 2004, but artists touched by his work are keeping his legacy alive through Thunder-Sky Gallery in Northside . The gallery exhibits work by unconventional artists who make creations infused with the Thunder-Sky ethos.

Let’s drop into the opening reception for an exhibition called “Superunknown: The Neo-Folk Impulse” and meet the people keeping Thunder-Sky’s legend alive. The exhibition is on view through Dec. 14.
