Cincinnati Center for Autism to be awarded $20,000 check

CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Center for Autism, the grand prize winner of the Jump START Your Nonprofit contest , will be presented with a $20,000 check Wednesday.

Modern Office Methods, an office equipment provider located in Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana, held a contest for nonprofit organizations in Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton for an office technology makeover.

Elizabeth's New Life Center in Dayton is the second runner-up and was awarded a $5,000 makeover. Helping Hands Center for Special Needs in Columbus is the first runner-up and was awarded a $10,000 makeover.

The center opened in October of 2003 by parents of an autistic boy and offers a variety of programs, which address communication, education, social and behavioral needs of children ASD, to assure that they are able to achieve happy, fulfilling lives, according to their website.

The check presentation is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Cincinnati Center for Autism located at 305 Cameron Road.
