Summer opera season a drag for CCM alum and 'La Calisto' star Daniel Okulitch

Performances are July 17-27 at SCPA

If the College Conservatory of Music is looking to trumpet another success story, they only need to point to this summer's Cincinnati Opera season.

Daniel Okulitch, a native of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, studied at CCM from 1999 to 2002 en route to an artist diploma as an opera singer. This summer, he has returned to Cincinnati for prominent roles in two Cincinnati Opera productions—the season-opening "Carmen" and, now, the Italian opera "La Calisto."

In this video profile, Okluitch discusses how his education at CCM helped pave his career and also how his role in "La Calisto" presents a challenge never discussed throughout his schooling.
