Big news for college bound students taking the SAT.
The College Board officials announced Friday the SAT college entrance exam is undergoing revisions -- the first since 2005, according to the Associated Press. The new exam will come out in 2016, which means this year’s ninth graders will be the first to take it.
The new SAT will be scored on a 1,600-point scale, with a separate score for the optional essay. Test takers can expect to be examined on reading, writing and mathematics. Students will also have the option of taking the test on a computer.
