1. Listermann Brewing merges craft beer, Oktoberfest for unique festival

You thought Oktoberfest was over, didn’t you?! Well you would be wrong.

2. Marina Franklin returns to Cincinnati for headlining comedy tour

Chicago native Marina Franklin is returning to where it all began.

The Syracuse University-educated comic is headlining a show at the Go Bananas club where she once opened for Tony Woods.

“That was my first real comedy room outside of New York, so for me this is a big deal coming back as a headliner,” Franklin said.

Tickets are on sale now so go to: to see how to get yours.

3. Get a break from beer at the Northern Kentucky Wine Festival

If beer isn’t your speed, or maybe your taste buds are worn out, then Mainstrasse Village may be the place for you this weekend.

The wine festival features tastings from more than 15 local wineries -- including Baker-Bird Winery, Elk Creek Vineyards, Purple Toad Winery and more -- as well as food, artisans and live entertainment.

So whether you’re looking to sample some local wines, get a taste of perfectly paired food or just want a whole bottle of locally made wine for yourself, you can sip as much as you please.

The Tough Mudder race is coming to Maysville on Saturday and Sunday and thousands of people are expected to take part. The 10+ mile course features “military-style obstacles such as ‘Funky Monkey,’ greased-up incline and decline monkey bars; ‘Fire Walker,’ a run through 4-foot-high flames; and ‘Electroshock Therapy,’ a gauntlet of 10,000-volt-charged dangling wires participants must barrel through to get to the finish line,” and more.

The race also raises money for the Wounded Warrior Project and organizers said they’ve raised more than $6.5 million for the charity so far.
