The pair met in Price Hill at a professional wrestling match. While the bride was not exactly smitten upon their first encounter, a set-up through a mutual friend eventually led to some hang time at a party, and the couple soon became inseparable. Eight years later, that date led to their walk down the aisle.
Why it works: The two have many things in common, but their activity is travel They take road trips each year, visiting such favorites as Detroit and Renfro Valley. When they’re in town, they also love to take in a Cyclones game, where the groom finds total bliss on dollar hot dog night Friends describe the couple as "flat out awesome," and say that both are always there to help whenever help is needed.
The ceremony took place at The Farm in Delhi, and was officiated by Artie Kidwell, a close friend and father figure to the couple. The pair chose to write their own vows, and while the bride wowed her husband with heartfelt words, the groom--having forgotten his part--was forced to ad lib from the heart. By the close of the ceremony, both had promised to commit to one another for a lifetime, which were the only words that needed to be spoken.
At the reception friends and family spent the evening celebrating the couple and their new life together. The pair said that the best thing about the ceremony was watching the bride’s sister catch the garter, describing the moment as, “Awkward, but fun times!”
With both the bride and the groom having faced a lifetime of adversity, they say together they have learned to not sweat the small things and instead, have a laugh. When asked what makes their relationship so special, the groom commented, “We just have a deep understanding of each other; we just get it.”
The newlyweds live in Covington, Ky., and plan to stay in the area until they can purchase a house together.

The ceremony took place at The First Presbyterian Church in Glendale, set to the theme of “classic romance." Candlelight illuminated the aisle as the bridal party made their way down. The couple says what made the ceremony so special was the added touch of having their parents (the bride’s mother and the groom’s father) serve as matron of honor and best man.
The bride says she was also blessed with miracle of her father’s presence. Just two months before he suffered a heart attack and underwent quadruple bypass surgery.
The reception followed at the historic Glendale Lyceum. Guests were surrounded by romantic decorations in shades of blush, gold, and ivory. The scent of flowers and the glow of candles completed the ambiance, creating a venue that guests described as, hHands down, the most romantic wedding they had ever been to.” Family and friends dined on food fromThe Village Pantry, and The Sly Band kept the party rocking all night.
The couple says the wisdom that comes with age is one key to their successful love story.
