Macy's unveils its Black Friday deals

Don't Waste Your Money

Macy's has been the subject of a lot of headlines, and criticism, in recent days, for its controversial decision to open its stores on Thanksgiving night at 8 p.m. for the first time in its 150-year history.

While Walmart and Toys r Us have been opening on Thanksgiving evening the past 2 years, Macy's announcement makes "Black Thursday" mainstream.

It is likely to lead to a flood of mall stores also opening early, when most people are still finishing Thanksgiving dinner.

Possibly to deflect some of that criticism, Macy's has just posted a preview of its hottest Black Friday (uh, Thursday) deals on its Pinterest page, well before its colorful newspaper insert is ready for shipping.

Macy's Sneak Peek

Macy's is calling it a "sneak peek," but the website BFAds.net says based on its sales on recent Black Friday, shoppers can assume this is pretty much its Black Friday ad, just in a Pinterest format.

Among the Macy's deals you can expect:

$9.99 Kitchen Appliances:  Macy's is planning to sell Coffee Makers, Griddles, Blenders, Toasters, Slow Cookers, and Waffle Irons for just $9.99, though in a few cases that will be after a $10 rebate. Brands include Black & Decker, Bella, and Westinghouse.

Buy One - Get One Free Junior's clothing: Sweaters, jeans, coats, and tops.

$19 Boots:  Tall Ladies Rampage Boots  (The boots are tall, not necessarily the women).

$49 Sharper Image Action Camera:  This is the Sharper Image version of the popular Go Pro camera, but with fewer bells and whistles.

60% off Martha Stewart Enamel pots and casserole dishes. Hopefully they won't have to fight with JC Penney over who gets to sell these.

Free 8 Piece Perfume Sampler with any $95 fragrance purchase.

$49 5-piece luggage set: From Tag Fairfield

$169 3/8 carat real Diamond stud earring sets. Yes, real, not Cubic Zirconium.

So get ready to shop, and don't waste your money.
