Michelin tire recall, Coby TV recall

One of the most popular tire brands, which advertises safety in its magazine ads and TV commercials, is recalling more than a million tires.

Michelin, long considered a premium brand,  is recalling 1.2 million LTX tires sold as original equipment on many new trucks and SUV's.

The company has no reports of any injuries, but has several reports of the tires separating under heavy use.

Affected Tires

Affected are LTX M/S (mud and snow) tires, made between January 2010 and June 2012.

They were standard on many Ford E Series vans, along with several different brands of pickups and SUV's.  

LTX tires are not made in passenger car sizes.

If you suspect you have these tires, contact any authorized retailer.  If they are on the recall list, they should give you new tires.

Coby TV Recall

Meantime, a group of electronics retailers is recalling 9,000 Coby 32 inch HDTV's.

These were sold since August 2011 for around $200.

6 of these TV's have overheated and started smoking or catching fire.  In one case, a wall was scorched.

Affected TV's are Coby 32 inch HDTV's,  model number TFTV3229.

The problem is that Coby is out of business.  So you need to contact the store where you bought it, so you stay safe and you don't waste your money.
