TriHealth plans to build a new four-story facility in Kenwood along I-71.
CINCINNATI -- TriHealth plans to build a new four-story facility in Kenwood along I-71.
The company announced Friday that construction on the new 112,000 square foot ambulatory facility would begin later this summer and should open at the end of 2015.
“This new facility will make it easier for our patients to receive a broad range of services in one convenient location,” TriHealth president and chief executive office John Prout said in a release. “It will allow us to co-locate, integrate and expand a number of physician and ambulatory services now at various locations. This is an important step in meeting the needs of our growing patient population in northeastern Cincinnati.”
The new building will be four times the size of the current Group Health Kenwood facility. TriHealth said that facility will be torn down to make way for the new one.
The company said the new building will be visible along I-71 north of the Montgomery Road exit.
Officials said the building will enable TriHealth to expand the TriHealth Cancer Institute (TCI) and TriHealth Heart Institute (THI) from the Bethesda North campus allowing both facilities to add oncologists and cardiologists at the new location.
The new building will also feature on-site diagnostic imaging, including CT, x-ray, ultrasound, mammography and dexa scanning.
TriHealth said the new building will allow the group to grow from five to eight adult primary care physicians and add six new specialists.
