CINCINNATI – Kathleen Sebelius, President Barack Obama’s top point person on the health care reform rollout, will appear Wednesday at Cincinnati State as part of a panel to discuss the Affordable Care Act.
The panel discussion will include professionals who are helping Greater Cincinnati residents sign up for health insurance through health care exchanges -- which went online Oct. 1 -- and consumers of the new insurance options.
The panel will talk about resources available for consumers and efforts to sign more people up in Ohio.
Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory and Cincinnati State President O’dell Owens, a physician and public health expert, will be on hand offering opening remarks.
The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the conference center, located on the third floor of Main Building at Cincinnati State’s Clifton campus.
Sebelius, secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has been instrumental in creating and implementing the Affordable Care Act. She is a daughter of the late Ohio Gov. John Gilligan.
