PIERCE TWP., Ohio -- A 19-year-old suffered fatal injuries late Saturday evening when he drove his car into a tree in Clermont County.
The accident took place on Pond Run Road, north of U.S. Route 52, at about 11:20 p.m. when a southbound 2008 Hyundai Tiburon driven by John Neville, 19, traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Neville, a New Richmond resident, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Investigators say he was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.
Pond Run Road was closed for several hours during the initial investigation into the cause of the crash. A cause has not yet been determined.
The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
