COVINGTON, Ky. -- A Covington man faces charges after a grand jury indicted him in the death of a heroin user.
U.S. Attorney Kerry Harvey said a federal grand jury returned a sealed indictment against 28-year-old Timothy Tingle on Friday and it was opened on Monday after his arrest.
Officials said Tingle is charged with distribution of heroin resulting in death.
Harvey said the indictment accuses Tingle of selling heroin in April in Kenton County to a person who later overdosed from using the heroin.
Tingle entered a not guilty plea during his initial appearance in federal court. His trial is set to start Nov. 25.
If convicted, Tingle faces a minimum of 20 years to life in prison, a maxim fine of $1,000,000 and at least three years of supervised release.
