SPRINGFIELD TWP., Ohio -- Springfield Township police investigated a report of an attempted abduction Tuesday that turned out to be a misunderstanding, according to officials.
Police initially reported a woman driving a Jeep attempted to abduct a 16-year-old girl in the 1700 block of Brightview Drive at about 4:13 p.m.
Upon investigation, police discovered the woman had offered the teen a ride, but the girl misunderstood the driver's intentions and contacted authorities.
Police later determined there was no offense.
No other information was released at this time.
