LEBANON, Ohio - A woman convicted of sexually abusing a child at her Springboro home and recording the act has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Tanai Fortman, 32, pleaded guilty Friday to charges of rape and pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. in front of Judge James L. Flannery at the Warren County Couthouse.
She is now classified as a Tier III sexually oriented offender, meaning she will have to register her address with authorities every 90 days for the rest of her life, according to the Dayton Daily News.
The Springboro woman was arrested in June on child porn charges after her boyfriend searched her phone to determine if she was cheating on him, but instead found explicit content involving a 4-year-old girl.
After making the discovery, Fortman's boyfriend called police to her home at 150 East Street in Springboro. He told responding officers that the videos he found had been emailed to several people.
When asked about the videos, Fortman said she didn't remember them being made -- and blamed her memory lapse on a large intake of weight-loss pills that rendered her unconscious.
She said she was working for an "online sexting company" and she got a message requesting she send videos of her and the child, officers said.
"She stated that she was sick to her stomach when she saw the videos and would never hurt (the victim)," an officer wrote in Fortman's arrest report.
