MUNCIE, Ind.—Senior forward Will Felder led three RedHawks in double figures with 19 points as the Miami University men’s basketball team earned a 64-52 win at Ball State University on Saturday afternoon.
The win evened the MU’s Mid-American Conference record at 2-2 and improved their overall record to 6-9.
Freshman forward Jaryd Eustace tied a career high with 13 points, while sophomore guard Willie Moore chipped in 12 points to help pace Miami. Moore also finished with a career-high five steals.
Eustace scored 11 first-half points to lead the RedHawks to a 35-17 halftime advantage. The Cardinals (3-12, 0-4 MAC) trailed by as many as 23 points and never got closer than 12 points.
Ball State, which was led by 24 points by Zavier Turner, was pestered by an attacking Miami defense that forced 22 turnovers, including 13 steals. The RedHawks converted the Cardinals' errors into 28 points.
The RedHawks return home to host Central Michigan at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The memory of former Miami and CMU head coach Charlie Coles will be honored at halftime.
