HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) -- Jordan Jackson scored his team's first 11 points after halftime and Travis White hit a pair of clutch 3-pointers as Northern Kentucky surged past Jacksonville 73-66 Saturday night.
Jackson scored a career-high 28 points as he single-handedly kept the Norse (6-9, 2-1 Atlantic Sun) within striking distance as Jacksonville tried to break open a one-point game after halftime. The Dolphins (5-9, 1-2) led by as many as seven in the second half.
Jackson hit four straight, forging a 45-45 tie. White hit his first 3-pointer with 3:39 left, pulling the Norse to 63-61. Jackson sank a pair of free throws for the tie, 63-63, and White drilled his second and final 3 to put Northern Kentucky ahead for good 66-63.
Jacksonville's R.J. Slawson blocked three shots in the final 5:28, twice rejecting Jackson, and made a put-back dunk to get within 66-65. Jarvis Haywood led Jacksonville with 19 points.
