CINCINNATI (AP) -- Mary Brown, second wife of the late Cincinnati Bengals founder and coach Paul Brown, has died. She was 83.
The Bengals organization reports Brown passed away Saturday at her Milford home. She was told in June that breast cancer she was diagnosed with a decade ago had spread to her bones.
Paul Brown died in August 1991, but Mary Brown still represented him at many events, including the 50th anniversary of the Pro Football Hall of Fame last summer.
The Browns were married in 1973, four years after Paul Brown's first wife, Katie, died of a heart attack.
Paul and Katie Brown had three sons, Robin, Mike and Pete. Mike succeeded his father as team president. Pete is senior VP of player personnel. Robin died of cancer in 1978.
