Loveland senior Gunner Gambill was voted the WCPO Player of the Week for Week 12, picking up a record 18,856 votes (41.3 percent).
The Tigers’ running back earned the nomination by rushing for a career-high 242 yards and two touchdowns to help Loveland advance with a second-round playoff victory over Northwest.
Gambill edged out Clinton-Massie’s Bayle Wolf, who recorded 18.416 votes of his own. Zach Larkin of Badin finished a distant third in the voting conducted by TriStateFootball.com. In total, 10 players were nominated with a season-high 45,508 votes tallied.
This was the final WCPO Player of the Week of the 2013 high school football season. Congratulations again to all of the athletes who were nominated for their outstanding performances. We especially want to thank all of the high school fans that offered their support of local players and teams of the week this year. Through 12 weeks, a total of 421,256 votes were tallied at TriStateFootball.com. The fans are a huge reason this is one of the best areas in the entire country for high school football.
