Simon Kenton's Matt King, a senior defensive lineman, was voted the WCPO Tri-State high school football Player of the Week for Week 3, picking up 3,906 votes (31.9 percent).
King earned his nomination by coming up with two interceptions and a sack as the team remained perfect with a win over NewCath.
King and last week's winner, Simon Kenton quarterback Brenan Kuntz, become the first teammates to win the WCPO Player of the Week back to back.
King edged out Loveland’s Luke Waddell to win the award. Sean Byrne of McNicholas finished third in the voting conducted by TriStateFootball.com. In total, 13 players were nominated with 12,247 votes cast.
