WDEF News 12 in Chattanooga, Tennessee (Jul. '07-Dec.'08)

Where did you go to college? Communication B.A., Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL (2005)

What are you most proud of when it comes to your work? This job carries a lot of responsibility. We have the burden to not only be timely but fair, accurate and considerate. That said, I've learned to be a stickler for detail. There's an old cliche I adhere to: "God is in the details." I love that expression. It needs to be on a shirt.

What are you most proud of in your own life? I'm proud of where I've been able to go and what I've been able to do in my career. I love meeting people and telling stories. I think my parents have gotten a kick out of watching me over the years.

What do you love about living in the Tri-State? The weather and the hills! There are no hills in Florida, and the climate is very similar to the conditions I grew up with in Maryland. We've got seasons here!

What are your favorite local hangouts/places, sports & cultural institutions? I love walking through Eden Park and up to Mt. Adams. The overlook is one of my favorite spots in town. Also, I've been known to frequent places in Clifton and Hyde Park.

All time favorites?  TV: I will watch just about anything HBO or AMC does. Jon Stewart and the Daily Show is my all-time favorite newscast.
BOOK: Fiction- "Freedom" by Jonathan Franzen, Non-fiction-"Reality Check" by Howard Kurtz
MOVIES: "The Hustler" and "The Color of Money"
BANDS: 3-way-tie between Guns N Roses, Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews.

Other than 9 On Your Side & WCPO.com, you get your news from: The Washington Post, USA Today, TIME Magazine, The Huffington Post, Awful Announcing, Deadspin, ESPN, and countless others. Variety is essential when it comes to gathering news.
